Office 2000 and publisher 2002 update

Hi guys
I have Office 2000 standard (italian version) on my PC running with
Windows98SE:
Some days ago i bought and installed Publisher 2002 that was not included
on the previus Officce 2000.
I run Office update and it suggest to install an Office XP SP3.
I don't understand if i need to download this Office XP SP3 because i don't
have Office XP on my pc.
Must i download this Service pack or is better to avoid it?
Pleasew suggest me what to do.

Publisher 2002 is a part of Office XP - that is why you are being asked to
download and install the SP-3. While Office XP is the official name of the
suite of programs, each program is of the 2002 version, e.g., Word 2002,
Excel 2002, Outlook 2002, etc.

Hi Paolo,

As Milly mentioned Publisher 2002 is part of
MS Office XP. Updates common to one or more
of the apps are contained in that Office XP
Service Pack update, so yes, the update is
applicable to your product, but it's not going
to 'require' you to install the update to get
the bug fixes it contains.
