Office 2000 and XP on the same machine

I have Office 2000 and XP on the same machine. Needs to
be that way before you shoot it down! :)
Well my problem is that once you fire Word 2000 OR Word
XP it wants the CD every time you switch from one or the
other. These machines are used out on the road so my
options so far have been:
1) Don't service pack Office 2000 and it will just
reconfigure itself OR
2) (I haven't done this yet) Save the CD to the hard
drive and install from there so it always sees the
install files

I'd like to know if there is a way to fix the machine so
that the 2 versions will co-exist without any user
interface. Thanks in advance! Jeff
