Office 2000 Automatically starts AOL

All of a sudden, every time I click an Office program icon
(Word, Excel, Explorer etc.), AOL starts up. It's a royal
PIA and I would like it to stop. Any ideas how?

Well, based on what I've seen posted about the sundry
problems with Excel and Word docs, I took Dave's
suggestion (to "Lynne" re: slow start to excell and word)
and looked at my NAV2003 options. Sure enough
under "Options>>other>>miscellaneous" the "enable Office
Plug-in" was checked. Unchecking this has solved the
problems of Office starting up AOL every time I clicked on
an Excel/Word shortcut or document icon. By the way,
these docs would eventually open...eventually... and only
if signed on to AOL!

Now docs open with normal speed. By the way, I'm a bit
behind and am still running on Win 98 and Office 2000.

Thanks for the help folks!
