Anyone help? I have just bought a new laptop with Vista (My desktop still
has XP) I want to know if I can install Office 2000 onto the laptop with
Vista or are they not compatible? Thanks for any help.

Its not been fully tested with Vista, that said most things are OK,
excepting there are some hoops to go through in getting Outlook to function
(Ensure any office trial is uninstalled first)

Outlook won't remember passwords.

Hi Paul,

Office 2000 is mostly compatible with Vista. The only exception is Outlook, for which there are workarounds - see
http://www.outlook-tips.net/howto/vista.htm. However, Windows Mail (which comes with Vista) is more secure than Outlook 2000 and
includes anti-spam filtering. Vista's Mail and Calendar programs are likewise viable replacements for the equivalent functions in
Outlook 2000.

Outlook 2000 remembers passwords just fine. It is Outlook 2002 that does
not remember passwords.

Outlook 2000's problem is with IMO mode and the Windows Address Book, which
is not supported on Windows VIsta.
