Office 2000 compatability

I bought a new computer that uses Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Many of my
emails will not open. What is the Office Compatability download? Will is
fix my problem? If the download will not fix my problem what is the download
used for?
I am not computer literate and any help is appreciated.

The Office Compatibility pack is for versions of office prior to 2007 so
that they can open the new 2007 document formats - nothing to do with email.
You need to be FAR more specific...what do you mean EXACTLY by "many of my
emails will not open"? How are you trying to open these emails and from
where?

The Comaptibility pack is to enable older versions of Office to open docs
created in 2007 format.
It will do nothing for your outlook problem.
Outlook 2000 is not fully compatible with Vista, it may work somewhat better
if you set it up in Workgroup mode
It should however cause problems with opening an email
