Office 2000 copy emails and contacts from one computer to another

I want to copy all email and contacts to another computer.
I have selected the export using the pst. and saved it to
my desktop. I then tried to email it as an attachment to
the recipenient, where I would import it from Outlook. I
get the message, part of the data is in use, and will not
allow me to email it. I can not save it to a floppy and
do not have a cd writer. Just how or where do I find the
instructions for this procedure? Thanks to the those who
know how.

Try rebooting to break all connections to the current Outlook session and
then try mailing it. Make sure that your ISP will allow attachments over 3-5
mb as your file may be considerable larger than that.

Another idea is to buy a laplink type cable and connect the two computers
together. Then you can drag the .pst file from one to the other.

i've seen situations where users can't import from pst files directly from
attachments, so I'd reocmmend saving it to your C-drive and then
right-clicking and go to "properties" and make sure that it's not set to
read-only.

Good luck Gary!

Why not just copy the Outlook databases?

The Outlook databases *are* the .pst file.
