I was recently assigned a new Windows XP laptop by my company. The machine came configured only with Windows XP Pro but none of the standard Microsoft Office applications we use in our business.
A support technician was dispatched and installed Office 2000 Professional on my machine. I noticed today when I opened a Powerpoint presentation received as an an email attachment I get a message (can not spell check presentation, feature not installed) and (insert Windows 2000 Premium CD to install). I do not have any of the Microsoft Office installation CDs since these are administered centrally in my company. I don't really need to install this spelling feature in Powerpoint right now so it is not a big concern but I expect that there are other features that may not have been installed as well. Is there a way to supress these error messages if I decide I don't need to request having the feature installed for me?
