Office 2000 file associations

I have a user who has lost the icons that identify Office documents. The
file association is correct, and the files actually open in the correct
application. However, the icons for Office documents appear as the generic
file icon. I have tried deleting and recreating the file type and I have
tried using "Advance Edit" to change the icon associated with the doc type
to no avail. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Try deleting the "ShellIconCache" file so Windows will rebuild it.
(Usually found in C:\WinNT folder and is a hidden file)
