office 2000 install -disc for new pc only

i installed a new hard drive on my compaq presario 5900z
which i purchased in december of 1999 i used the compaq
restore disc to format my hard drive but now i can not
reinstall microsoft office 2000 because i don't have the
code numbers to re-install it. the software came with the
package i ordered for compaq. i contacted compaq to help
but they we unable to give me the required code. can you
please help? i can't even print anything because i can't
access microsoft word....... thank you in advanced.

Did Compaq give you a reason why they were unable to give you the numbers?
They are responsible for supporting the copies they sell.
