Office 2000 install error

Trying to Install Office Pro 2000 on a clean install of
Windows ME. I get to the first dialog box of the
installation and this error pops up.

"You must reboot your computer in order for the installer
to continue this installation. Please reboot and run
setup again"

I reboot and get the same responce everytime, I have
tried to install Office Pro 97 and Office Pro XP on this
machine and they both started out fine. (I cancelled the
install after it got past this point but did not do a full
install) I looked in the install log and seen error 2836..

Any Ideas ???
