I ran SP4 for Windows 2000, then started getting File
Protection errors on a regular basis. Then I had to
restart and got a nstokrnl.exe error at start up. Had to
run startup from floppies. Finally got the machine running
again...but couldn't run Office products. Tried to repair
the installation...but that didn't help. I then
uninstalled Office. Tried to reinstall, but got an error
saying that the administrator has set a policy that won't
allow the installation. I clicked on the shortcut for
Outlook and it worked....even though I don't see any
options in the Add/Remove Programs for Office. So, I
still cannot repair Office 2000, but I can run all the
programs. None of the service packs will completely run
through either.
