I have had a problem installing Office 2000 after
reformatting my hard drive and starting with a clean
slate, with essentially only Windows 98 SE and some other
utilities on the computer.
About 1/4 of the way into the Office 2000 installation the
machine freezes up to the point that I have to shut the
machine (a Compaq laptop off and reboot). I have tried to
do the "typical installation" and I have even tried
installing only one Office program (Word). But
installation seems to hang up in the same place every time.
Any thoughts on how I can fix or work around this problem?
