Office 2000 installation

I am reinstalling office2000 because of operating system
corruption which required reformat disk etc.
Office XP has been reinstalled and all updates installed

When I attempt to install office2000 I get the following
message: This installation package cannot be installed.
You must install a windows service pack that contains a
newer version of the windows installer.

When I go to Microsoft for windows update, there are no
updates required.

If you really want to install both Office 2000 and Office XP on the same

True, although I do not see why someone would want to do what he wants?
They are very similar! I often have to check which version I'm using
when I'm on someone elses machine, if I need a 2002 feature, since they
are so similar. I could see XP or 2000 along with 2003, maybe?

P.S. - Windows XP sucks, it's VERY annoying to use !!! Stick with 2000!
2003 server is OK but a pain in the @$$ to shutdown with its 400
billion options to you are forced to choose from.
