Office 2000 keeps trying to reinstall

I had to upgrade to WinXP from WinMe due to OS corruption when install a
network with firewall interference. WinXPchose to install itself on Drive
D instead of Drive C. Then I had to reinstall many applications, including
Windows Office 2000 Professional. Now, every time I launch any Office
application, I get a screen with a progress bar that says it is
installing/configuring Office 2000. Only takes about 5 seconds, but it is
aggravating.

Any easy solutions?

It sounds like you did a clean install of Windows XP to
the d;? drive and not a upgrade. And any time you have to
reinsall the operating system Office will most often need
to be reinstalled as well.

I guess my message was not clear. I did do a clean install, inadvertant,
and have have reinstalled Office and many other programs. The problem I
have is that each time I run one of these applications, I get a message,
with the progress bar that Office 2000 is renistalling/configuring. It
takes 5-10 seconds and does not render the application unusable, it's just
an aggrivation. I would like to know how to convince Office that it is
really installed and get on with business.
