Office 2000- new document wants internet connection

Karl

Hi:
I recently installed Internet Explorer 6, and Outlook 6, on my Windows 98 PC. Office 2000 and IE 5 were previously installed. Ever since IE 6, when I click New Office Document and select Blank Document (looks for a template?), it wants to establish an internet connection. If I'm not dialed in, the Dial-up Connection box pops up and won't cancel away. Any ideas? Thanks.

Was your internet connection set to "Always dial a connection" back when you
have IE5?
