Will Office 2000 run on XP Home? Also I would like to keep
Word 2002 which came with XP Home, will Office disk
recognise that there is a newer version installed? Please
help if you know the answer. Thanks.

Office2K will run OK; select Custom install and do not install Word or any
Word specific Tools

Hi R.C.H.,

I'm not sure I'm following your question.
If you have MS Office 2000 it includes MS Word
so you wouldn't need to install from a separate
CD, such as the copy in MS Works Suite (i.e.
Word does not come as part of MS Windows).

If you have MS Works Suite listed (and a separate
listing for MS Word 2002 (newer than the one in
Office 2000) you can use the custom install in
Office and choose to exclude Word 2000. The general
guideline is to install the oldest first, so you may
need to repair or reinstall Word 2002 after first
use of Office 2000.
