Chris
I have a new Dell PC with XP Professional, and I'm trying
to install Office 2000 Professional.
The CD I have is the 'upgrade' to Office 2000 Pro. I have
successfully installed Office 97 (SBE) so that the upgrade
CD finds a previous Office product on the PC.
It seems to start off OK, but halfway through the
installation it freezes, then comes up with 'Internal
Error 2349'.
I saw something in the Microsoft technical database about
maybe having problems installing Office from a CD-RW or
DVD drive, and the workaround is to install from
a CD-ROM ? (I don't have a CD-ROM)
I tried to copy the CD onto the hard drive, but this also
failed with 'Cannot copy VIEWSSPT: Cannot read from the
source file or disk'.
I'm stuck - can anyone help ? Is my Office 2000 CD
corrupted ?
