Office 2000- opening documents

D

David St.

When opening some of my documents in Word 2000 I am unable to open
them either using Explorer of the Word file/open dialog box. I get a
flassing header bar and the following error message:

The document name of path is not valid. Try these suggestions
*Check the file pervissions for the document or drive (I don't know
how to perform this check)
*Use the File/Open dialog box to locate the document (this doesn't
help)

Of course these are important work related documents that I can
certainly see in both Explorer and File/Open.

Thanks for any help.

Hi, David.

I'm not sure if I can help but have you tried right clicking the file in
Explorer, selecting Summary/Advanced and checking that all is okay there.
You can then, if you wish, select the General tab and click on 'Change' to
open the file in text only by selecting Notepad.

Hope this helps,

Ed

Sorry, David. I meant to say Wordpad.
