A colleague is trying to install Office 2000 Premium on XP Home.

He kept getting Install Terminated Prematurely and the below error in the
verbose.txt file. Searches on the web show a number of issues but I have
been unable to resolve this for him yet. This is a standalone PC and the
user is logged on as Administrator.

In the end, I got him to uninstall and then reinstall one application at a
time. Word went on okay, Powerpoint went on okay, Excel went on okay but
then Access gave the Install Terminated Prematurely error.

Attempts were made to uninstall everything and that removed all the
previously successfully loaded applications but Access won't
remove...instead the error appears all the time. I've tried deleting the
c:\program files\microsoft office directory and removing Access from
Software/Microsoft/Office in the registry but no matter how hard I try, I
cannot get rid of Access and start from the beginning again. It doesn't
matter if I go to Add/Remove programs or start by running setup again.

Any ideas or pointers welcomed.

Thank you.
