OFFICE 2000 Premium Upgrade version

I just purchased a new computer with Windows XP Pro. My
MS Office 2000 Premium(Upgrade version)is trying to find
a valid existing installation to upgrade from and I can't
remember what was originally required to be installed
first. Does anyone have a list of valid programs and
versions for this package to upgrade from. Did it
include competitive upgrades such as Netscape, Corel
Wordperfedct V? etc? (I can't believe this information
is not available on-line somewhere. Requiring the
installation of some older software to reinstall this
product is a ridiculous solution). Perhaps there is a
work around?

Er, no. None of the above has ever been a QP for Office.

You've *never* been required to have the older version installed - merely to
insert the CD as proof of ownership.

Nope. No QP, no Office. If you don't have a QP you don't have permission to
use the licence.
