office 2000 pro - license issue (help)

I got a copy the original office 2000 pro CD (with
hologram) & CD key from a friend.

What else is needed to legitimately use the s/w?

If your friend has uninstalled Office{retail product}, then you have what
you need.

If your friend used the Office 2000 CD to qualify for installation of Office
XP upgrade, then the Office 2000 CD remains part of your friend's Office
installation and is not transferable.

If your friend's Office 2000 was a pre-installed OEM product, then it is not
transferable. I may be wrong, but if you have the letters OEM in the
produce key, than it is a OEM product.
