Office 2000 Pro SP3 update won't work

I am trying to load Office 2000 Pro sp3 on a computer
running W2K Pro. I did an administrative install of Office
2k Pro from my server if that helps. I followed the
instructions of renaming the three access files to _old
and then tried to load the sp3 and got a "The update
cannot be applied" error. I have also tried to load the
sp3 without renaming the access folders and got the same
error. Any help on why I cannot get this sp3 applied????
