Office 2000 prof and Windows XP

I purchased a new computer with XP Home installed. It came
with Word 2002. I want to install Office 2000 but not Word
2000. Will it recognise the newer version or do I have to
do it through custom install? If through custom install
how do I deselect Word 2000? Thanks in advance.
