Office 2000 Prof

Have a used laptop with Windows 2000 Prof. and all the options in control
panel are whited out.....like administrator locked or something...there is
no admin other than the default. Any ideas on why the settings, options,
etc..would not let me change them????? In lieu of having to reinstall
Windows..would appreciate any help.

Not an office question. Simply log on to the PC with an account that has
Administrator privileges.
