Office 2000 Professional on a New Gateway Tablet PC

C

Chad

I am trying to install office 2000 Professional on my new Gateway tablet PC.
It gets about 50% complete and then tells me that I need to insert my Windows
XP Professional SP2 cd. Here in lies the problem, the tablet is running on
the new Windows XP tablet edition. I also did not receive the tablet edition
cd. I don't know what file it is trying to get off of the Windows XP pro cd,
but I am assuming that it is something that the tablet edition is missing.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

Contact your computer manufacturer and request the Windows XP Professional
SP-2 (by the way, it is SP-2 but they call it Tablet Edition).

So let me make sure I have this correct. I should contact Gateway and ask
them to send me the Windows XP cd?

Yes, but Gateway and other large OEMs will usually ship a "recovery disk"
that has Windows, their drivers, and other applications on it. Did you
receive one of these? What happens if you put it in when it is requested?
