I currently have an older pentium 200 computer and I am
planning to buy a new computer. The new system that I am
looking at would come with windows xp and works. I really
do not wat to pay almost $400 for office professional xp.
Will i be able to load office 2000 professional onto the
new computer. will it recognize the new verion of works?

If the software (Office Premium) came with the old PC, it will die with that
PC as it is OEM and cannot be transferred to a new machine. If it is a
retail upgrade version, the license requires that all of the media used to
install the upgrade be maintained with the upgrade CD as one unit. If you
no longer have the qualifying media, your license to install it is invalid.
