After multiple issues attempting to update, I ran the Microsoft Installer
Cleanup tool suggested elswhere, and was able to uninstall program. After
re-installing the product, I was able to access the Update information and
downloaded O2ksr1a.exe file. It seemed to install fine through first disc
request, but failed during the 2nd disk request. Error 1321. "The installer
has insufficient privilege to modify this file:
F:\PFiles\MSOffice\Office\SBT\SBCM\SBCM.MDB. (why would it WANT to modify a
file on the Microsoft CD i dont know!). Anyway, retry doesn't work, so I
choose ignore and get an Internal error message 2318 and points me to a log
file for Office 2000 SR-1 Setup. I can't go further in downloading any
updates without Microsoft recognizing this critical first update. I have
upgraded my installer as suggested elsewhere as well. *sigh* Can anyone
help?
