Office 2000 Professional

I currently own Microsoft Office 2000 Professional and would like to purchase
Microsoft Office 2007 Professional upgrade but I don't know whether 2000
Professional is compatible with this upgrade. Can you help me?

JLS asks:

Some of my files, including files with footnotes and endnotes were created
in Word Professional 2000. However, I now receive messages to insert my
original disk in order to download relevant updates. BUT, in consequence of
retirement, I no longer have access to the original disks which I am required
to insert.

Would someone who uses Word Professional 2000 and its updates kindly advise
me what software to purchase.

If you don't have the qualifying media, it will be impossible for you to
install the Upgrade version. Either acquire the install media for the
qualifying software or purchase the full version of office 2007.
