Office 2000 serial number missing

I have installed this program numerous times including at
least five or six formatted hard drives. I've never been
asked for a serial number, I never received one from Dell
in 1999. Now I'm out of warranty, and I need to know how
to "crack the code." I've even had a consultant install it
on my freshly formatted hard drive without any serial
number. I have no booklet that is referred to in my manual
wherein the serial number is supposed to be stored.

Baffled in Oregon and hoping someone can help me or it's
bye-bye Office 2000 and Hello Word Perfect Suite which I
also have with all its bells and whistles.
