Office 2000 service release 1a

I tried to download Microsoft Office 2000 service release 1a...many times,
but unsuccessful. It gets to the part of inserting my Microsoft Office CD (I
have Microsoft Office 2000 premium) and I put in disk #1 - which has word on
it...why won't it work?

Possible that your download is corrupt. You could go to tools in IE /
Intenet options / General tab under the heading "temporary internet files"
clean your cookies and files.
Remove the SR-1a file and do a disk clean up, reboot the system.
Re-download and try the install again.

I have had the same problem, it's like the problem is when
you insert the Office CD the data is not being read.
