Office 2000 Slipstreamed -- SP3 Trouble

I have Office 2000. I have the original CD. During a
motherboard-fry, a friend rebuilt my computer. He installed Office
2000 from his CD, which he said was "slipstreamed" through SP2.

Now I guess I need SP3. I can't get it to install. It says that no
updates are needed. How can that be?

Do I have to download the updates one by one, unpack them, and replace
the older files? Or what?
