Office 2000 SP3 keeps asking for wrong CD

Office 2000 Professional is installed on my work PC. I
have the CD for it right here. Recently I installed the SR-
1 update via the "Office Update" web page at Microsoft.com.

Now I'm trying to install the SP3 update from "Office
Update", and it keeps asking me to insert the Office 2000
SR-1 CD. Well, I don't have that CD because I installed SR-
1 via the web. When I insert my Office 2000 Professional
CD, it says the file it needs isn't there, please insert
the Office 2000 SR-1 CD, and around and around we go.

The web site says I'm supposed to be able to use the CD I
originally installed with. Why isn't it working? How can I
install this update? This is stupid!

Okay, I tried again today and this time it worked. I didn't do
anything different this time as far as I know.

You know, I had this happen once before: an Office Update didn't work
the first time, but did when I tried a second time five minutes later.
This time it didn't work on the second or even the third try, which is
when I sent the above. I guess the Update is just flaky sometimes.

Oh, and apologies for what was surely a Frequently Asked Question, but
I got to this newsgroup via Micro$oft's web interface, the search
facility of which is severely lacking. I've got my work PC set up with
a real newsreader now, so it shouldn't happen again...
