Dan
I have my Office 2000 original CDROM.
I install SR-1a fine using the Office
update site. I try to install SP3 from
the Office update site, it downloads,
starts to install, then asks me to:
"Insert the 'Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1'
disk and click ok". It won't accept my
original Office 2000 Pro CDROM. It says,
"Office 2000 is not a valid installation
package for the product Microsoft Word
2000 SR-1. Try to find the installation package
DATA1.MSI in a folder from which you can
install Microsoft Word 2000 SR-1".
Of course, I downloaded all the SR-1a versions
I could to see if I could find a DATA1.MSI,
but I couldn't find one from any of the available
SR-1 downloads.
Obviously, when one is using the MS Office
update site, they aren't going to have any
files that are only on the patch or SR-1 CDROM's.
This problem prevents implementing any of the
security patches that require SP3! Help!
Thanks, DRHO
