After unpating our Office 2000 Pro administrative share
with SP3 and reinstalling Office 2000 to a test client,
the Office Update (office.microsoft.com) still shows that
the client needs SP3. However, the security patches that
require SP3 (e.g. 827431, 826292, etc.) will install
correctly.
I don't believe the administrative share contains Access
2000 runtime files (as addressed in article
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-
us;829080).
Should I worry about the Office Update not recognizing SP3
being applied to client? If this is a problem, how do I
fix.
Note: The update will be sent via SMS update (reinstall of
Office 2000 client from the administrative share).
