I'm having this problem, too, with Win98. I've updated to Installer 2.0, as
well as Office 2000 SR1/1a (required for SP3) and SP2.
SP3 requires the original CDs for Office 2000 (which I have). During
installation, the computer will search for the original CD (I am guessing)
and goes to the A:...but, of course, my CD is in my D:. It doesn't prompt me
to insert the original CD, and I can't figure out how to make it look in the
D: instead of the A:.
I have re-run the Instmi.exe from the Office CD, but to no avail. I am
guessing this problem has something to do with the Installer, because the
Office Automatic Product Update doesn't work anymore either (same thing: it
searches the A: for the CD and then gives me an error message).
Any help would be appreciated!
