Office 2000 SR-1a Problem

I can't seem to get the MSO2000 SR-1 Install Program to recognize Data1.msi.
I keep getting the error message the (pathname)\Data1.msi is not a valid
package, look for data1.msi in a folder or location, etc. I have tried
copying it to a directory on the HD with no change. The (pathname) is
different but otherwise the error is the same. It's on 98SE which is up to
date(yeah I know, that's an oxymoron<G>) and the Version 2.0 Installer is
installed. I'm tryin' to help a hot blond friend, so any ideas anyone has
for a solution will be cheerfully tried out.

John Ski,
Just as a suggestion, but when we work on 98 based machines w Office 2000
our best results are to follow SP release dates for Windows and Office
progessively on a clean drive.
