Office 2000 SR-3 Update (KB873380)

Folks,

I just tried updating my Office 2000 with a critical
update for a vulnerability in Word Perfect 5.x Converter --
English (KB873380), It said Install Unsuccessful and
suggested using the fullfiles version.

I installed Office 2000 from CD's and installed SR-1 vai
the Windows Office Update process, so I do not have the SR-
1 CD's it is calling for, just the original CD's.

However, the fullfiles after Office 2000-R3 have not been
updated since March 9, 2004!!!!!

Is there any way I can get this update?????

Thanks... Norm.

Hi Norm,

In the 'use features from' box when it asks for the CD
it should tell you what original CD it's looking to find.
It's not necessary to have the SR1 flavor on CD.

The full file update for SP3 for Office 2003
is a self contained file replacement update rather than
the client/patch update. It's available as a download or
as a CD http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/FX010383631033.aspx

You may want to try a repair/reinstall from Add/Remove programs
in the Windows Controls Panel for Microsoft Office and then
update after restarting the PC.

Mr. Buckland,
You seem to have a lot of answers, so I was wondering
if you can solve all of our problems about updating Office
XP? We all have a different file than PRO.MSI, yet it
seems that is the only one the updater will accept. Is
Microsoft working on this? I have a legitimate copy of
Office XP Professional, Academic Edition. My MSI is
PRORET.MSI... HELP!!!
