Office 2000 stopped working after 4 days

I have a new Presentation Server 4 farm with 2 fresh installs of Server
2003 - NO SP1. I installed Office 2000 with a trusty MST file with no
issues, and did the same on the second server. All was running well...

As of yesterday, for no apparent reason, when users were logging in I was
getting reports of Office apps not working. Strangely enough, other apps
continued to function, but sure enough Word and Excel did nothing. You
double click on the icon, and you see the hourglass VERY briefly, then
nothing happens. I've checked the event logs and there is nothing there.
I downloaded FileMon and RegMon from Sysinternals for help in
troubleshooting, but I'm not very familiar with either. Does anyone have
a clue why this could've happened and how to resolve it?
So far, I've tried the FIX option from ADD/REMOVE, uninstalling and
reinstalling with SP-3 and security patches, uninstalling and
reinstalling with no patches, but I get the same thing everytime.
Reboots were thrown in where necessary.

Here is my setup:
Windows Server 2003 EE without SP1
Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 (no Hotfixes)
Office 2000 Standard installed with modified termsrvr.mst saved as
O2KCitrix.MST

I logged into server with local admin account and office apps still don't
run. Checked all folder permissions, registry permissions, etc. The
funny thing is that Outlook 2003 is still chugging along. Same setup is
on second term server but it's still running fine. Ideas?

TIA

OK, I tried all "tips", but got nothing. However, when I rebooted into SAFE
mode, all office apps worked!! In normal mode, I still get the same thing
though. I'm going to try the following:

1. REPAIR, reboot
2. UNINSTALL, reboot, clean registry as best I can, reinstall with no patches
3. If that doesn't work, ?????????

Any help out there?

Well, after a week, here is what has happened:

1. Office 2000 stopped working on my second PS4 server with server 2003 on
Tuesday, Oct 25th. This install had ALL SPs and security patches via
office update except the Outlook 2000 post-SP3 security patch. (No need,
since I'm using Outlook 2003.) I uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled with
all patches again.
2. Thursday, Oct 27th - Office 2000 stopped working again on the same
server. Uninstalled, rebooted, reinstalled, but only patched up to SR-1a,
because that's the only service pack I slipstreamed with my network
administrative install.
3. Friday, Oct 28th - Office 2000 stopped working on my first server
again. This time it lasted a week before dying. Did the same reinstall
procedure I did on the second server.

Can ANYONE please tell me what the deal is with this? Here is some more
information than what I offered the first time. Both Dell servers are
identical in hardware and configuration.

2 Citrix Presentation 4 servers with no Citrix Hotfixes or patches
Windows Server 2003 EE without SP1 and no Microsoft Hotfixes
Office 2000 SR-1a installed using an MST
8GB RAM with /PAE switch
20GB C: for system files and programs
40GB D: for MIS utilities and all user profiles (D:\PROFILES)
5GB X: for 4.5GB Swap file ONLY

Hopefully when I go in Monday morning Microsoft Office will still be
functional on both servers. Can anyone suggest a Hotfix for Server 2003 I
may have overlooked? Or some other fix?
