Office 2000 to Office 2003

I am currently running Office 2000 and want to convert to
Office 2003. I have Office 2003 Student & Teacher
Addition (not the update version). Do I need to uninstall
Office 2000 from the Add/Remove Programs (OS2000Pro)and
then install Office 2003? Will my data files be saved or
will I loose them?

Thanks in advance

Office Pro 2000 contains more applications than Office 2003 S/T Edition
If you use Publisher or Access from Office 2000 it would be best to keep it installed
To keep all files/data/settings intact, as well as update compatablility etc... we never uninstall previous versions
Takes more space but is much less problematic in the long run
