I installed Win XP Pro on a clean hard drive, then installed all the other
stuff - including Office 2000 Small Business Edition. There are 3 users -
Admin, User1 (Power User) and User2 (Power User).
Admin and User1 have no problem with any office products. But whenever User2
tries to start Word, it tries to reinstall Office (the Office 2000 installer
pops up). If I cancel the installer (requires many cancels because it keeps
restarting), then Word eventually starts up.
If I insert the Office CD's when the installer tries to work, then it will
also start up (after a lot of thrashing about). But then, the next time User2
logs on, Word will not start without the installer trying to reinstall!
I have tried a Repair reinstall from the Admin account, but no improvement.
Both Win XP and Office 2000 had all updates and patches installed, before
this problem began.
Any suggestions on how I might "repair" Office 2000 for User2?
