Office 2000 uodate

My Office 2000 Professional was unsatable so downloaded
the SR1 pack. However, could not install it. As soon as
cthe comp. is started, SR! tries to install but get error
message: " Error 1919 - error configuring ODBC data
source MS Access Database. ODBC error 6. Component not
found in the Registry. Verify that the file MS Access
Database exists and that you can access it."
Several attempts to correst this failed. The Comp. is
getting more unstable. Ian using Widows XP platform.
Please help

I experienced the same problem. The first time the PC became os unstable that it would no longer start and run. I had to send it back to hte manufacturer. when it came back I tried to install office 2000 on my laptop with XP Home. The unstableness came right back. Go to the desktoop and do a roll back to an earlier date, before you installed office 2000. Also uninstall it until you ae able to fine the patch that Microsoft has for it. I'm told it's there but I haven't located it yet. If yo find it, Please let me know.
