I have read through all these topics on how to fix the
problem, but none seem to work.
I have followed the steps on the compu-help site, Im
alwasy running as an admin, and I can install updates
manualy through the download catalog.
My problem is the search gets to 66% and then loads up a
webpage with the following message.
"The Office Update Catalog cannot be displayed
The Office Update site is currently experiencing some
technical difficulties and is unable to check for
updates.
Click the Try Again link below to try loading the site
again (do not use the Refresh button on your browser to
reload the site).
If problems persist, please contact Microsoft Support for
assistance. You can also search for Office updates in the
Download Catalog.
Try Again"
the adress for this page ontains the following error
string on the end.
"error.aspx?Code=3&Error='s_dicStrings'%20is%20null%20or%
20not%20an%20object"
I know the site is not down, as I can load it fine on my
other computer. I've tried removing the update object,
and it asks me to redownload it, but then gives me that
error all over again.
I have norton personal firewall, systemworks 2003, and
antivirus, I have disabled them all, and I still get this
error. Windows update works fine, its just office update
that doesnt.
Can anyone help?
