Hi, I have Office 2000 Professional installed on xp Home. I visited Office
Update and it told me I needed to download and install sr-1a. I downloaded
the file and commenced installation. After some time, I was asked to insert
the original CD. I did so, but the CD failed to read. After many attempts,
I gave up and cancelled the installation. Since this happened, my PC will
read no CDs at all. I am convinced that this has been occurred as a result
of the failed sr-1a installation. It is as if my PC thinks it needs to
complete the sr-1a installation before allowing any other CDs to play. I
don't know how to remove any partially installed Office update. I thought
about uninstalling Office entirely to see if the problem goes away. If it
does not, I am worried that I will then be unable to reinstall Office at
all....I cannot find any information about this problem, any help you can
offer will be much appreciated.
Thanks!
