Office 2000 update

I've been getting error messages suggesting I should
check for updates. Went to the suggested MS site which
scanned my computer (I'm running xp pro) and it gave me a
list of updates to download. I downloaded SP-1, SP-3,
Security patches etc. successfully, but when I try to
install them I get a message saying that I do not have
the software installed on my computer for which the
update is intended. I show Office 2000 on the list in
Control Panel add/remove software, and MS's own online
scan of my system gave me the list of needed updates.
Looking at the list of posted problems it looks like many
others are having similar problems. Any ideas?? Where is
Micosoft?

I've been having the same type of problem! I'm using
Office 2000 Pro. When I try to install some of the updates
it tells me that I don't have the correct software...even
though the scan shows that I should use the update. I also
cannot load 2 security patches: KBB22035 and KBB24936. It
just tells me that the installation was unsuccessful.
Microsoft's site says to go to newsgroups and ask the
qustions!
