Office 2000 Updates (can't get)

I try to check the Microsoft Office site for updates, and
it checks my PC to 40% and then says it can't check my
version of MS Office 2000 because (a) I'm not the
administrator (I am), (b) a missing .msi file??? .....
I have a good hard copy of MS Office 2000 but can't get
on-line Microsoft support. Can anyone help???

Just to let you know you're not the only one. Interesting though, I am having the exact same problem with Office XP Professional. I've looked for a resolution and have found none. I submitted an email support request earlier today. I will post that for you when I receive it and check it out. Good luck.

I finally got updates to officeXP. Although I can't get back to techsupp for some reason. Although I had reinstalled officexp AND winxp, i was still unable to get updates. However, when I installed SP1 and SP2 to officexp, I can now get updates. Incidently when I was able to chk for updates SP3 is now avail. In short, it looks like reinstall and include all the sp's. Hope this help you all..

Windows Installer Cleanup Utility???? Read about it thoroughly and see if it may apply....
