Office 2000 - Upgrade

I have recently reinstalled Office 2000 SBE and have updated/upgraded to
SP3.
I have yet to finish installing all the security/critical updates.
It would appear that Publisher 2000 within this software is not upgradeable,
so that items written in newer versions of Publisher, in particular version
2003, can be read.
I can find Converters for Word, Excel etc but not for Publisher.
But, it would appear that I qualify for an upgrade to Office XP which I
believe has Publisher 2002.
But would this enable me to open items written in Publisher 2003 and later
versions.
Would the below help - though I cannot see any mention of Publisher.

I believe the only solution would be to buy Publisher 2003 or later version.

For you to be able to open a newer Publisher file, you will need the file's
originator to save the file as an older format. There are no viewers or
converters. Please note that Publisher 2000 files can be huge because of the
way it handles graphics.

My suggestion is to buy a newer version of Publisher and be done with it.
There are enough new features to make it worth your while. ;-)
