Office 2000 want to install every time

Office used to work fine once upon a time, but for the last 6 months or so,
every time I open any Office product, Outlook, Work, Excel, I get a Windows
Installer saying that it's preparing to install, then them message to wait
while Windows configures Office 2000 SR-1 Small Business.

I've completely installed the Office suite (a number of times actually),
both on the C: drive and on another drive, each with the same results. I've
tried repairing it, along with everything else I can think of, but get the
same results. I've even gone to the point of double-checking that the
features I want are installed on my computer, not to be installed on first
use.

This is not a show-stopper...it's more of an annoyance having to wait for
the configuration to complete before the product pops up.

Any suggestions will definitely be appreciated.

Neither of the links worked.

Would this have anything to do with the fact that I can't install anything
with a '.msi' extension?

Mike,

Not sure if you figured it out, i took the 'solution number' and did a
search on the support.microsoft.com site and found the links:

I like you, am having this problem. From my research it appears as though
my problem may be due to having some office 2003 applications (just
frontpage) loaded with office 2007 loaded as well. Seems ol' mighty
Microsoft has once again provided us with a sub-par product.

Thanks bill...
