Bob S.
I am trying to install Office 2000 on a new HD, old one died, with nothing
on the new drive except Win 2000, SP4 and all updates/patches. There is also
IE 6 with all updates/patches. Norton Security 2005, disabled during
installation attempt.
The Office install get about halfway through the first bar graph and then
says it has to install windows files to proceed and to insert my SP4 CD. The
good CD is inserted but it says I have provided the wrong CD. When I cancel
I get an error 1933 message stating that Windows installer service cannot
update one or more protected windows files. Installation ended prematurly
because of an error.
I have no idea as to what files it is looking for and did not have this
problem on the other drive however there have been more patches for Win 2000
since that installation.
Any ideas/help will be greatly appreciated.
