Office 2000 won't install

if you find the answer let me know ...I have much the
same problem, office 2000 installed on my old WIN ME
computer but won't install on my new XP machine..

I have found that when I get the message "the system
cannot read the device", it usually means that that device is bad. In
your case, sounds as if the CD player has gone.
