Office 2000 won't work in XP

I just upgraded from Me to XP. All of my programs EXCEPT
Office work fine. I get this error message when I try to
use any Office program:
The application must be installed to run. Please run
setup from the location where you originally installed
the application.
I also installed the Windows Install Cleanup file but
still get the same response. I'm unable to uninstall or
reinstall.

What now???

Reinstall Office 2000. The registry entries sometimes get corrupted when
you upgrade operating systems.

If you actually did an "upgrade" of XP instead of a clean install of XP,
then that's most likely the problem. Even if it's not, you'll have other
problems. Trust me - please, just trust me. You need to do a clean
install.
